10 Months Old

I know it has been a while since my last post, but Makenzie has taken off and that means I have not stopped! Look what happens when you turn your back for a second. She just got her third tooth last weekend and I am so excited she finally said Ma Ma!

Happy Fourth of July

We had a nice relaxing fourth. Daddy got some big sparklers, but Makenzie was not too interested. Although, she did enjoy the music and sesame street on TV at the capital!

Playing Around

Makenzie is really trying to move around on her own. She has become good at going from her stomach to a sitting position and back and forth. She can make herself go backwards, but it is moving forward that she is still hesitant about. She did it a few times, but not enough to call is crawling yet.

The Beach

Well, we just returned from our first family vacation in Destin where Marmie and Papa C live! The Long's were able to take the adventure with us and everyone had a great time. Makenzie liked the beach and the pool and simply loved the sand. You would think after the first few mouthfuls of sand she would not like it, but that was not the case. She ate enough to bring a sand castle back home. She was also able to meet Mimi, who is Darryl's grandmother.

Makenzie's Babble

Sorry it has been so long since my last post. Things have been a little busy. After turning the big 3-0 at the beginning of the month I started my new job. My first week was in St. Louis and for those who want to know-Darryl did survive without me! Makenzie has started to babble some. She got her second tooth and is getting on her hands and knees and rocking back and forth. She is also beginning to start to pull up on things. So, we may have a mobile baby on our hands pretty soon. We have been enjoying the pool, but Makenzie will be introduced to the beach next Friday when we head down to Destin for vacation.

Makenzie and I have been spending some time at the park. She simply loves to watch all of the other kids play on the playground and run around.

Memorial Day Weekend

We decided to take our show on the road for Memorial Day and headed to Kentucky. We had a great time grilling out and introducing Makenzie to the pool. She was hesitant at first, but after some comfort from Poppy she was ready to play.

Mother's Day

I had a great first Mother's Day as my Mom and Dad were in town. We had a very pleasant brunch that day with Timm's parents and I enjoyed a relaxing afternoon. Makenzie has started to eat a variety of baby food and her first tooth has come through!
